So.... I just ordered this. I'm hoping I made a good pick in parts. I have not built a desktop for like 3 years.
Anyways so the base is a Cooler Master Elite 130. That should give you a good idea of the size. It did influence what I had for options.
Anyways I'm hopeful I'll have the parts by the time the event comes around and maybe I'll even end up building it there. Who knows. The storage I have on hand already so I ordered the rest.

P.S. - If I end up building it there I'll be bringing my laptop too just in case however to comply with the one computer per seat bit I'll only be using one or the other. So if the desktop gets going then that's fine and it will be the one in use however if not then the laptop will get used instead.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that this system weighed in at just over 290W power consumption under load based on PC Part Picker.

Looks like a nice little LAN box! Even a nice compact size gaming and home rig.

Thank you. My bad luck with it has already started though. I took a look at the socket (pre-build inspection) and found one of the pins is bent so I dealt with ASUS/Newegg getting a replacement. Unfortunately the actual replacement likely won't arrive on time. It's 5 days there (PA to CA UPS Ground shipping) then 2-5 to "inspect" then 2 days (Expedited 2 day air) to get back. Even if they only take 2 days to inspect it there there is very little chance it will make it so I ordered another board so that I do get one.
EDIT: Ordered board is shipping from California :( (actually got confused because it said Ontario, CA). If the outbound I just sent is any indication though I will probably have it in time. I was just hoping there was a chance I could have it built in advance... :/
EDIT: Got the board this past Monday. It will have to be built there but I got everything now. They refunded me for the first board.

I've had a little micro LAN box like this once. Was a pretty good PC. Kinda miss it actually looking back on it. Just make sure you look at your dimensions to ensure you have clearances. One of the most difficult thing I ran into was power supplies being too long or disks not giving enough space to easily work on the mobo.
The biggest thing for you will prob be video card clearances. 10" long double stack cards makes things tight. Can't get everything in the right spots without it hitting things. Hopefully it works out. Take pics and let us know how it turns out then!

So update on this machine. It survived the year without too many upgrades.
This year I'm coming with a 970GTX. 2 months after I got my 960 I found that they released a 4GB one soon after my original buy and I was starting to get games that benefited from having 3GB or 4GB due to increased texture sizes. It wasn't many but it was enough. The 970GTX is from the same manufacturer as my last card and the same line.
I also installed a 4x 2.5" bay in the 5.25" slot and filled it up. It holds the original SSD which is still in active use for booting and running 3x 2TB drives in a Raid 5 configuration. I switched all the ports to hot-swap mode so I can disengage a port if one drive goes bad without rebooting the system. The bay itself is hot-swap enabled so it is safe and I verified it already before building the array. Effective 3.63TB.
The power supply was swapped with a slightly shorter model. I kinda wish I had gotten this one originally because it was also cheaper than my original. The main reason for it though is that the new one is 100% modular (the other was only semi-modular) and so I was able to get cables better for the job. The brand is silverstone and I also got their short cable pack so that I didn't have such long lines in there. It only has cables needed for the system build.
