Creative X-Fi
« on: January 07, 2006, 12:31:10 AM »
Well, lets get this forums started!

I just recently got a Creative X-Fi Platinum sound card.  I heard these cards in action at quakecon when they released and ever since I have wanted one.  I finally broke down and got one for myself.

It is a simply amazing sound card.  I know sully won one at quakecon, but does anyone else have one of these sweet cards.  If you do not, I urge you to get one...you will not regret it!

edit:  I will go more into detail about what makes it so good when i am less tired...time to sleep

*Demo'd Billa's card*

Pretty freakin sweet, makes a BIG difference in the immersion factor of games, beyond basic sound setups.  Real cool for music too.

Kinda steep price though.

Note: If you didn't notice for BF2, There is Software/Hardware and Direct X-Fi Settings, be sure yo be in GAME MODE to use this, it will revert to lower settings.  The Fat1ty and elite pro are only cards that to Ultra High Audio....yes...its differant.

I have an X-Fi card and I haven't had any problems with it.  Quality is great, definitely a step in the right direction - Creative.
