I'd have to say my favorite part of the lan was seeing all of the gamers lined up, waiting to enter the arena! We weren't sure what to expect for turnout after the weather reports came out earlier in the week.
:2thumbsup:

Me too...........it was great to see such a good turnout!

I think my favorite moment was the exchange of winks, tickles, and taunts with Fabio's crew in the BF2 Finals. Although perhaps it was observing the sea of monitors and their various games from atop the fireplace shelf.

F*** YO COUCH
yeah, I think that was it...
or seeing lilo on game1.fites.lan (internal problems, but I was really really happy as it happened)

It was cool to be with fellow computer geeks. (even if i was a different letter generation from most of them) I enjoy seeing other people's systems, and checking out their hardware. The gaming was good, and the company was good, i just couldn't make it all the way through the night. I am looking forward to attending the next one.

the thing i enjoyed most was getting to hang out with cool people that i don't get to see often

Learning that you can use an optical mouse on construction paper if you forget a mousepad :D
-
Yeah the BF2 last match trash talk was pretty awesome...
But My favorite part was watching Pride come withing a centimeter of his life when he took ahold of our McDonald's Bag......
I don't think he seriously realised how much of a world of hurt he almost steped into...

my fav part had to be.... seeing peoples reactions when their leg was duct taped to a chair leg at 5am. :cussing:

Winning the Quake 3 and UT2004 1vs1 tournaments. I did way better than I thought I would in UT2004 instagib, because instagib can depend on lucky spawn kills a lot. I played my cards right and did very well.
The Quake 3 tournament was very fun. It was my first Quake 3 tournament. I met Cloud in the Winners bracket finals, I believe, and before the game started, I said "See you in the finals ;]", because I knew me and him could beat everyone there. I beat him, sent him down to the losers bracket, where he beat my teammate, buu, and then I took him down in the finals.
Also considering it was a 100 man lan, and I won both UT2004 and Quake 3 1vs1 tournaments without being defeated (or nearly close to it, not to brag ;] )
s2i also took the UT2004 CTF 6v6 tournament. We won both of our matches within 2-3 mins ;] I taught them how to play some hardcore defense, and it showed, because not one flag got far out of our base at all if the enemy grabbed it. I trained a few of them, and HystericPoison commented on how he felt like he was playing so much better during the tournament because of it. I was glad to see that my training helped.

i liked going undefeated with my source team that was fun. Ill get back at you fragile :badboy: lol :)
-
I love the CS tourney with the triple OT and my coolest round where i had 6 health with a deagle and beat 2 T's and disarmed the bomb...was SOOOO cool.
Fragile watch out next time i guarantee ill beat u at least once so dont get too comfortable at the top.
Underdog always comes out on top eventually....peace

I too was a fan of the CS tourney. But Id have to say I enjoyed the large UT2004 free play that went on most. We started with 3 or so people and before long had the server full for quite a while.
Well Okay fine..the best part -was- the CS tourney :)
-
You aren't saying that just cause of the win? Eh?

Well, it certainly helps. :flex:

 So far this is the best part of the LAN! Seeing people brag about thier l33t skills and how great they are and listening to people whine about this case mod contest!  This is great!

You may beat me in UT2004 instagib, there is a chance in that. Though, beating me in regular weapons will be a long shot for ya ;] I was considered pro at regular weapons, beating some top US players, and beating some of the best players that represented their country in WCG (it is a world-wide best of the best LAN tournament).
Underdogs don't allllwayys come out on top :p

In the early days of FITES we had a motto: "It's all about the name calling". It's good to see that tradition carry on to the next generation of FITESers....haha, FITESers...I like it :)

I enjoyed being wide awake for the BF2 tourney, it was kick ass once we got past a few bumps in the beginning... :badboy:
