Ok, so this turned out to be one big load of crap in the end, but nonetheless, I temporarily had access to the directory listings and downloaded all the source files I could get to before the site went back to normal.

Just kind of interesting look into what made this site tick.

Of particular interest is the db.inc.php.gz file in the includes directory
