I was just over on digg.com and I saw that there is a new battlefield game on the way. It is going to take place in the future (hence the name).

yea gametrailers.com has it and a game footage movie of it. Im not sure if i'll like it as much as BF2 butit looks promising.

It does seem soon but i don't think the graphics are that much above what BF2 is, so i think it might be feasable.

I think it was built using the BF2 engine. It's probably like a mod, except EA is gonna charge you the full price of a regular game to use it. Go EA money machine :shakeno:

I don't know that it could be considered a mod. Seems the gameplay should be the same: physics wise (its still on earth), the weapons are still projectile based, etc.

So its a matter of creating new skins for the vehicles, weapons, people along with game play maps. And in that one part of the clip, it looked like they were using the large oil above ground tanks from one of the BF2 maps.

I don't think this company cares too much about releasing stuff too soon, and I'm sure this game will be just like the first release of BF2, very buggy requiring major patches that will require patches to those patches, and a gui of a 10 yr old game with no tracking of playerz...

I agree that they might use the main engine of BF2, of course they might tweak a little more out of it. Or maybe they won't they might leave it like it is, I think this is gonna turn into a Mechwarrior game. And yes EA is going to take over the world.
