Saw this on digg, 12 linux servers to run that display?  Any multiplexing monitors looks cool but the gaps between screens would suck.

15. According to the website where i found this from, they were generally getting between 15-30fps with that setup. a small price to pay for the uberness of it.

did you guys see that matrox is releasing a box that extends the video output from ur video card to 3 screens and it doesnt affect framerate at all.  I'm actually thinking of checking this thing out as long as i can afford 2 more LCD's

yes it does, it tricks windows into thinking you have a REALLY wide high res single screen, you still have double the pixels, it has to render them somehow

yea but not to the degree that the old parahelia did.  Actually it should be thes same as if you were running wide screen on one monitor.

They also have one for $130 less that will span across 2 displays.  although if you have a dual head video card it can do the same thing internally.  Though if you get 2 of these and hook each one up to one output on your video card you could span across 6 monitors.  Or have 2 rows of 3.  That might work out pretty cool.  Would probably definately need SLI for that many pixels though.  And a trailer to bring it to the LAN.
Never, but never question the engineers judgement.

Just thought i'd promote my college.  My senior year, a couple guys in my class built a video wall.  After making a prototype, they were given the funding and space to build the full version that I have linked to below.  Pretty amazing to see it close up, especially when they have something like the sea demo with the fish or playing quake 3 on it.  Talk about motion sickness...
