So, figured since I started posting I might as well keep posting... Why are forums so addictive anyway?

Anyway, on to the point... I've got a 50 man ventrilo server that I rent that sits empty most of the time (I just keep it around for when I do play with friends)... and if anyone has a displaced clan, trying to form one, or just wants a place to come hide out with some friends and do some gameing, let me know, and I can hook you up with the IP/Password.  Also, I can set up channels upon request if anyone has some need for privacy (IE, matches, etc) and I am the ONLY person with admin for the entire server, so no fear of random kicks/bans from anywhere except channels that people have admin rights on.  Sooo... anyway, let me know if anyones got some interest, like I said, its got loads of room...

Awesome!  I've never really used it, but some here may take full advantage of your offer!

Should try it sometime... its a solid program, incredible voice quality, individual volume controls per person, and oodles of other features.... Head and shoulders above teamspeak.  (I know alot of people who switched to ventrilo and refuse to use TS anymore)  (and the way my last two posts have sounded you'd think I work for Red Orchestra and Ventrilo)

yeah theres a big teamspeak/ventrilo agrument. I personally prefer vent. Yeah you can change the bitrate to make teamspeak less fuzzy, but vent's clarity still offers something more. Now people just need to release a Ventrilo Overlay program.

If I ever get a chance to play I'd be glad to log on but I don't think it's head and shoulders above Teamspeak. I think both programs have downfalls. I never seem to have problems with Teamspeak but others sometimes do while on Ventrilo I sometimes get staticky for no reason. A quick open and close fixes that but it's hard to do that mid game (note: this may just be hardware compatabilities that each program has, but I don't know). I took out my sound card just a bit ago though because of IRQ interrupts and am just using onboard sound. Maybe it'll work fine now?

The static issue used to be a big problem at times, although I haven't encountered it in awhile.  I don't know if it was the most recent version of Ventrilo that fixed it, or if it was a problem with some of the directx at the time, but I haven't encountered the problem, or anyone with it in a long time.  My big love for vent comes from the much higher voice quality, and the amount of customizability you can do with it if you arn't afraid of looking through the menus.

As for the overlay program agent, one does exist:
http://www.voiceoverlay.info.ms

I've tested it, and it works like a charm for either TS or Vent ;)

I may be intrested in trying... I want to see the differences for myself. Even though I am a fan of niether because there is no native Mac Client.

EDIT: What do you know.. I am slow.. (right Pride?) And wrong again!

That is sweet Slorg

Personally I like vent better, but ts is ok.  I like the simply look of vent more than the clunky feel of ts.

As for the voice overlay program, I have used that nice little program since my planetside days.

i'd gladly join in, but i rarely play online anymore, so i would just add to random chatter, effectively taking up bandwidth.

I'm like Agent. I might play online once in awhile (usually BF42) but I'd mostly be on for chatter. I'll take the info if you don't mind that though!

The info is vent.nyc.trinitygames.com 3801  the password is wartime.  Feel free to hop in... My name I go under on Ventrilo is Rallog.  Try to stay out of the everquest 2 channel... Citan gets grouchy and takes his games pretty seriously, and I don't want to have to smack him around for being grouchy to fites members.
