UT3 Titan Pack Released!

Epic Games has released, for the PC, a patch to bring Unreal Tournament 3 up to version 2.0 alongside it's hotly anticipated Titan Pack. You'll want to apply the patch first and then the pack. Get those right here:

    * UT3 Patch 2.0 (309 MB)
    * UT3 Titan Pack (916 MB)

For full details on what's in the pack, check out our Titan Pack Reveal. In a nutshell you get:

    * 16 new maps + 3 bonus pack 1 maps
    * Titan mutator
    * Greed and Betrayal gametypes
    * Stinger Turret, Eradicator Cannon Artillery and the Stealthbender vehicle
    * X-Ray Field and Link Station Deployables
    * Slow-Field power-up (pickup version of the deployable of the same name)
    * Two new characters: Nova (Liandri) and Kana (Ronin)
    * 57 Steam Achievements
    * Major enhancements, incuding AI, network performance, menu and UI, better mod support
    * Client-side demo recording, updated server browser, new maplist system, mid-game mutator and gametype voting functionality

Outside reading about new maps and a few new mods, I haven't read about the uber patch yet.  Before doing so, I wonder if its possible they can do for UT3 what UT2k4 did for UT2k3.  In that instance, they kept all the same maps, but tweaked the interface, and tweaked the "feel" of the game to be closer to the original UT.  Hard to describe how the "feel" was different between ut2k3 and ut2k4.  That, and onslaught was simply an amazing mod and very much worth the cost to upgrade.

I'm looking forward to them possibly pulling another magic trick with this new patch + map pack.

Cypher, Yak, and I played the 2.0 beta patch at the lan, and it is MUCH better than it was at release. I can't exactly place what it is that changed, but the overall feel of the game is as enjoyable as UT2004 now. So hopefully with this new patch, our next UT tourney will feature UT3! I personally can't wait for that. So cross your fingers and hope UT3 2.0 takes off!

Just as a note... I played around with titan mode.. WICKED FUN. And the Greed gametype looks like it could be a fun replacement to CTF. Had a blast with it.

They must have just enabled that offer because when I looked at it after it was posted it was $19.99.  Also you can play it for free this weekend.
