Title: UT2K4 1v1 Questions

Hey, I might be driving to PA to visit an old friend and I was thinking I might stop by and play in the UT tourney.  I was wondering if there are any details available for this tournament?

Things like Maps, and if any tournament mods will be used(brightskins ect..)

Also, I was wondering if anyone here has played in any leagues online? or played with any players like Gimmix, Luake, Lotus, GlitzZz ect..  Or do you mainly just play inside the lan group.

I think we might be using UTComp. not sure on that yet. No maps have been picked that I know of. I mostly play within the LAN group. Though I have played with alot of Belgium's top players like Starseeker(Vertigo).  I seem to be fairly competitive in UT. It's the only game I'm good at :P

UTcomp is a definate (rough ini file (http://tekieb.fites.net/lan/uttoun1.ini)) and will probly be the only mod

Maps aren't my department, so I can't comment

heh you got me a bit nostalgic. I went to track down my buddy Starseeker, But his clan and their website are now extinct. =/ He was in Delta Prodigy. I met Starseeker, also known as Vertigo, during the time he and I were working on Descent 4. Haha. this is crazy I totally forgot all about this stuff.. I was clueless about the gaming industry then I guess. This dude named Garner ran www.levels4you.com and was one of the D4 team level designers.

He got us in a chat with CBleszinksi. Thats insane. I talked with cliffyB and I didn't even realize it. I must've been in 9th or 10th grade at that time.

Do you still play online?  I was thinking of getting back into it, but all but one of the servers I used to play on is up.  I remember playing with people like Captain_Carl, and a few others.... of course they always smoked me, but I didn't need that much more playing time to be competition to them.  2 years ago when I played the game I was pretty damn good.. but im sure that has all changed now.   Anyways, Its not looking good as far as me attending, mainly because of funding, and time/work interference.  I'll probably be playing UT a little more often, I play as treefortkid... so you might be able to find me ingame.

I think I might be up for playing more online.  If we need a server sometime, I can get one going.  I have a dual xeon sitting in my basement wanting something to do.

I know Gimix and CombatCarl i played Gimix alot before he stopped playing 1v1. For maps I suggest DM-Rankin, 1on1-Roughinery and DE-Ironic since they are basically the 1v1 maps regular 1v1 players know of.
