Hey everyone,
We had a great first week of sign ups. 25 in 5 days. Lets max this thing out. Get the push on. Get your friends to sign up, heck if your gramma plays, get her there too. We would luv to frag her.
I would love to see this party maxxed out by this weekend. Helps us with planning the next big 100 man event. It would show Pride that the interest for the big event is there, before having to put down some ching on the digs to hold something that big.

yup, gotta admit... with only 25 people interested... not looking good for a 100 man event.. if we hit 50, we'd do it... but why shell out huge money for the holiday inn if we cant max out the day care?

Opinion:
I believe the 50 man was arranged on a bit of short notice, with maybe 5 weeks in which to prepare and spread the word. Not to mention this is back to school time when many people in highschool and college are just settling in. Out of curiousity, what were the attendance figures for the last 100ML's? I remember the first one as being an absolutely awe-inspiring event, it blew me away.
Despite all that I'm really stoked for the 24hr event!
Let's do what we can in the next week or so to get more people signed up!!!

We had 70 people at the lan at the holiday inn.
We only had 55 at the auction lan
I do realize that there are some marketing implications of not filling it up this time..

My ctc (career and technology center) teacher wants to go and i also have another friend who might be interested in coming up too.

I have a couple people I'm working on as well. Does anyone know if the GeForce 4 fix for BF2 works well? As they both have ti cards.

I have heard mixed reviews about it. But I also think that was an early version.

if it doesnt work for them i am sure we will have a reg 1942 or DC server up for the people with non compatible hardware requirements. and to balance it all out i will be happy to join in on the 1942 and DC if there arnt to many.

I was asking Pride about his attendance to the LAN. He is a good chap. I was thinking a spot of tea and tactics could be discussed if the gentelman was going to attend. Last I heard is that he had tickets to the theater. And by George you just don't understand the needs of the erudite aristocrat. We need the theater. This is news to me. Since when did Tekie find this out? Why didn't he post it? I mean, I read every post around here and try to post a reply to almost everything. (Greater Internet F***WAD theory?) I mean look at my title. (Currently: Points Whore) But back to the subject at hand. This is really sad, he is supposed to be our DJ.. And I spent some time last night and fixed tags on 26 gigs of mp3s last night!

And I might need to go home half way through the lan, just started a new job, can't get off saturday (5-11.) Either way my hardware will be there, have no fear! Tekie is here!

yea pride geez...hater. it's like a 45 minute drive and i just figured it would be easier to ride with tekie since he is already going and the fact that i DO NOT want to ride with fabio whether he would let me or not. so i will see about one of my other friends going who happens to drive as well and maybe i can just ride with him.

looks like we have a good 2 less people now. call off or tell them you need off. tell them your grandma died. LAN is more important then work.

Guys: I can't get off work, it sucks, parents are TELLING me I must be at work, cause I owe them a lot of moneys right now, (see powerbook) and they still make the rules/give me the car. Also, it's going to be my 3rd week there, so I lack seniority to get off at a moments notice
But i'm going to be there to set up and provide services and frag ya'll for a bit, and I intend to come back after work, but I need to see how all goes.
Either way you will have some form of tekie expierence, so smile :D

hmm that kinda sucks... sorry bro... i understand work constraints... and I respect you realizing that while we joke around... your job IS more imporant than the lan. As long as you remember that... you will be successful in life.
As for getting here.. I didnt realize you guys were 45 minutes away! Let us know how you work things out.

will do whether the parents will take me there or whether tekie is taking me or not is still unclear. we will just have to think about what would be easiest for both of us and work with it. the parents might not like driving me because of gas prices...but i was gonna give tekie gas money anyway so i guess either way...

Since tekie is coming to setup and tear down, seems easy enuff to use him for transport services.

I think the issue is that Tekie has a cinderalla license... if he is off work at 11, he wont be able to drive down until 7 AM Sunday.

you can't get in THAT much trouble for driving after 11.
The most you can get is a $25 fine, and they have to have another reason to pull you over.
Anyway, lan is comming soon, and we have 28 people registered. Lets fill it!

*sigh* be lucky people donated ANYTHING at all for you guys. posters, stickers, pens, shirt(s), hdd encloser, fans, lights, tattoos, microphones, and other Crap like that. you wouldnt have any of that if it wasnt out of the kindness of FITES STAFF. we wanted to make you guys happy. and i dont remember a thank you for any free bawls and other swag. so a big ol thumbs down for that.
but anywho. we did what we could for the time we hand. 2 1/2 or so weeks notice is not enough time to get sponsorships.

I am sure that everyone appreciated the swag that was available... I think the problem is that while people donated swag... having the swag available gave the assumption that this was a competition lan.. like our 100 man lan events... that may be where we went wrong.
