Anyone? I saw it Wed. night and I rather liked it save for the stupid human parts and the twins talking.
As always, Peter Cullen is da man. :10:
-
The movie was good but the whole human robot was alittle overboard.
-
Human robot? Sounds like Terminator 4!
Transforminators, anyone? (http://tinyurl.com/qfavu8)

Taken for face value, I actually quite enjoyed it. I can't help but wish the movie could aspire to be more than a mass market pop culture summer blockbuster action flick with stereotypes and clichès included though (which is understandable from a business standpoint).

I saw it yesterday and I must say while it wasn't a horrible movie....I was really disappointed. The extra crap they seemed to throw in like the RC Twins....really bad. They talked like homeboys and looked really stupid (even had gold teeth). They had what seemed to be a 2nd set of twins as motorcycles that had two seconds of screen time. Would liked to have seen them as the 'leading twins'. It seemed more like comic relief.
The human robot did seem like a rip off of terminator 3. There's a part at the end (don't worry...no spoilers here) that was just plain ridiculous....let's just say 'Robot heaven? WTF?'.
Soundwave makes an appearance, but he wasn't in it enough. Jetfire also makes an appearance but it seems like the scene was just tossed in there. And there were alot of continuity issues. In one scene they were at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and when they 'left' they were in an airplane graveyard...in a desert. Just odd.
The whole movie seemed a tad disjointed.

That 2nd set of twins was actually Arcee and her two sidekicks in tow. I forget what their names are, but they're part of G1 to an extent. That I liked.
The twins... yeah. Why they talked, I have no idea. I can understand wanting to put crude or "stupid silly" humor in for the kids, and I understand that it's almost a given for something like that to be put in, but that was almost too much.
Soundwave had such potential. Serious, serious potential. He had the look of guy who'd kick ass and take names, but..... limited to monitoring communications? Friggin' weak. He did deploy Ravage, though. Serious nod to the oldskool with that one. :-D
Jetfire.... well, at least he had a contributing factor with Optimus. Slight nod back to the Armada cartoon is all I have to say.
That robot heaven.... best sense of it that I can make is that it was actually the matrix. All the knowledge of the Transformers is stored in it, right? There were several times in the old cartoon where Optimus interfaced with it and talked to some old guy (robot) in some virtual space and got advice from him. My thinking is that the knowledge contained therein (robot personalities and such) decided to interface with the human somehow. How is beyond me, but it's M.Bay. Don't question the man or your life will explode because he'll want another summer blockbuster.
The fight scene(s) with Optimus were... I leave it at outstanding. I loved them, simply put. The first one was so much more than I expected them to put in the movie.
Oh... and the Devastator transformation scene? Dude, I actually felt TINY with the way they shot him coming together.

This is twice now in our lifetimes that Optimus Prime has died. I actually felt a twinge in my chest when I saw the killing blow and realized what happened.
Plus, the twins holding their own against Devastator? WTF?!?!? :bomb:
Oh, and last thing before I go. The Fallen has a direct link to Primus and Unicron. Notice how there was no mention of either in the movie. The best we got was the human guy saying, "Gotta make you wonder.... if God made us, who made them?" I hope I wasn't the only one who caught that little tidbit.

saw it last night....like it...good movie
-
Yes i saw it over the weekend and it was very good. I was a little dissappointed in devastator but it was of never-the-less.

I enjoyed it very much, on the surface level it was excellent, but if you try to analyze it you come up with a few WTF items, the chick robot, WTF??? The racist lame ass black inter-city twin robots, WTF??? The spiritual awakening in the end by the "Primes" WTF??? But, taken as just an action movie, id say it was a good movie that could have been excellent if it were 40 min shorter. Standard Hollywood sequel fare.
