Thank You Verizon
« on: July 01, 2007, 05:15:52 PM »
I have a new found respect for these guys, yesterday my phone and my internet didn't work at all. We assumed they were working on something in the area, but yet all my neighbors had internet and phone. And one of my neighbors has FIOS, so luckily we had a cell phone and called Verizon. They had a tech come out and he replaced the terminal outside and we were back in business. They have never had a problem like this before, and apparently the terminal just stopped reading the fiber optic signals. He came by 9am and fixed it before lunch, nicest guy ever he definetly knew his stuff. And he told me that Verizon is working on getting digital cable that will go through fiber optics, so you can have phone, internet, and tv on fiber. So hopefully my family will get off comcast tv real soon.

Actually we had some phone issues last week. We could call out, and we'd get calls in, but it wouldn't ring. Unfortunately, we weren't so lucky with the tech support. After 5 days of trying to sort it out, countless hours on the phone, and 3 field techs later, we got it sorted out that 1 of the 4 phone jacks on the ONT went bogus. To send a call it only requires 40 ohms, but it takes 80 ohms to receive and trip the ringer. But the fact that it took to the 3rd field tech is a bit ridiculous... and the 3rd guy fixed the problem in less than 5 minutes.

Dude, it's upside down and it's not a hat. Now your ice cream is all over the floor.
