Yes Steve Jobs has passed today at 56.  The greatest inventor of my time imo.

Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

I have been reading some of the new bio book. It really disgusts me more and more. Dude was good at re-inventing, but he was better at being a total douche. He had no qualms with taking some one elses ideas and improving on them, but the moment some one did anything that even remotely (rectangle?) resembled anything he did, he would go ballistic and suehappy. Yes, from his own daughter, to lying to the courts, to historic property, he was a total douche.

Broken!  I <3 you so much for this post.

The true story of Steve Jobs is buried way down in the media.  And just like anything else in the media they are sensationalizing absolutely anything they can to get views.

But holy crap!  This guy did NOT cure cancer.  He did not develop interstellar space travel.  He made GADGETS for pete sake.  Why is he being treated as some sort of god.  In the grand scheme of things his contributions to the world is NIL!  I'd be willing to wager that Stephen Hawking's inevitable death will not be as "important".  Shows what kind of world we live in.

ALL of THIS^!

It sucks that he died but he was a businessman...that's it.  The things he invented (then reinvented several times over) were innovative and people love them enough to sink tons of money into them.  But I don't understand why he has been compared to the likes of DaVinchi and such.

This sums it up pretty well... "Well, Steve, I think there's more than one way of looking at it. I think it's more like we both had this rich neighbor named Xerox and I broke into his house to steal the TV set and found out that you had already stolen it." - Bill Gates

I have no problem praising him for his business acumen, his design, or his drive. That is where it ends for me. I vilify him for his overpriced product, choice of lawsuit over product improvement, and his vehement hatred of anyone who even came close to doing to him, what he has done to so many others. Steve Jobs took passion, design, and unfortunately hypocrisy to a whole new level.  He is a great man for 2 of those reasons and contributed to his doucheyness with 3rd.

In fact, he was even a douce to his own body which may have very well have been the key contributing factor to his cancer metastasizing and ultimately leading to his death. Yes, friends, Steve Jobs lasting legacy to the world is proving you can douche yourself to death.

At least he left Apple with the Woz in charge. That guy is definitely kickass. Though, I still hate Apple. Jobs was a douchebag and a hypocrite. Apple is all about being proprietary, yet he through a hissy fit about flash and how damn (according to him) proprietary it is.

I don't care if he was smart businessman. You can be a smart businessman without being a douchebag.

Woz hasn't been in charge in quite awhile.

Wozniak permanently ended his full-time employment with Apple on February 6, 1987, 12 years after having created the company. He still remains an employee and receives a small token paycheck.[7][4][8] He is also an Apple shareholder.[9] He also maintained connections with Steve Jobs until Jobs' death in October 2011,[10] although in 2006 Wozniak stated that he and Jobs were not close friends.[11]

Tim Cook is now head of Apple.
