Title: Steam and CSS

Here is the situation.  I am bringing someone to the Lan and they are using one of my boxes.  Since this will be the only time this person will be using the box, I don't want to buy an extra copy of HL2.  Since (from what I understood) there will be a local Steam server, will it catch the same CSS game copy running on two seperate machines? How would I get around this issue?
