Yea, the weather seems to hit every other year.

This thread got me wondering, how many years has it been since you guys started having the event at Park Inn vs the other Holiday Inn it was at before? That year was my first LAN event, been here ever since...

2007 was the only year we were at the Holiday Inn in York. We tried working with them getting the power we needed. Day of the event we came to find they didn't do it the way we agreed and rented a generator. They were not pleased with how much it cost them. I like the height of the ceiling at that location, it kept a bit cooler.

But FITES actually has been having their LANs at the current venue since 2002 I believe, but in the upstairs ballroom. In 2004 they had an event at an auction house. In August of 2006 we moved to the downstairs ballroom, but only half of it. But FITES kept coming back to the Park Inn (formerly Holiday Inn) because they have done good by us. (RE: Powa)

More FITES history than you needed right? ;)

actually, that summary was pretty kewl, you should have a "History of FITES" post somewhere! And yea, that old venue had those high ceilings, but I like the current location (as long as we don't get kicked out of the hardware bar like last year, lulz).

I didn't hear about you guys getting kicked out. HAHA!

But maybe we should do a history page. I thought there was more info on our about page, but seems there isn't. Maybe a project good project for us to do at some point!

First bigger LAN was in one of the upstairs (ground level) rooms at the (then) Holiday Inn in June of 2004 and held 100 people. I remember this because I was moving into my first apartment the day after. I wasn't staff for this LAN, but have been for every other one. Man, a history page would take some thinkin' to remember.

To go waaaayyy back.....before we had these large events we were just 20-30 guys in a basement in Port Trevorton, PA. None of our "founders" are involved any more, but I've been around since the third "small" LAN (second one held in Port Trevorton) since 2003.
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!
