I did some miscellaneous photography down at qcon in random places of the Gaylord and decided to share it with you guys. 7 of these pics are from the Gaylord or the Roadtrip with Sully and crew. A couple are just some shots I've taken in the interim :)
Back of a road sign in front of my house.
Sharpened and enhanced w/ photoshop.

Taken in a parking lot of a shopping center near me.
There are some really increadibly nice sunsets visible from there.
This is not really one of them :)
I'll try again another day for a better shot.

Thought this was a nice little shot when I was passing by the bar a the Gaylord Texan.
The bartender thought I was nuts however...

Taken at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, TX in the Lonestar Atrium.
They had very nice fountains and flower displays inside.

I wanted a shot of this hall without any people in it, but it was simply too busy.
I may remove the people from the photo at some point in the future.
Also taken at the Gaylord Texan, on my way to the Convention center.

I messed up two very important things while shooting this stitched image.
#1: Didn't bring a panoramic tripod
#2: Forgot to set the white balance properly.
Because of #2 I ended up stylizing the colors quite a bit.
This is not really even close to the real colors, but it will do as a fall-back.
You'll also notice 3 areas where the stitching is mis-aligned.
I still like the 'mood' of this photo so I decided to post it anyway :)

Nice stuff...
didn't realize you were into photography
-
Incredible!!!

Wow, those pics are absoultely amazing. Funny how you can spend a total of about 48 hours in a car w/ a person and still know so little about them. I already knew the Gaylord was a beautiful hotel, but you really make it look great.
-
We were in a vehicle???
Oh right... the 48 hour torture and sleep deprivation box on wheels with the chairs of ultimate discomfort.
I remember now, must have been blocking it out.
:D

I love the riverwalk atrium wall...

Can I get a hi-res of the bar? Makes my long for my days as a boot legger.

If you have photoshop, that is a PSD with the original unmodified (well, it was cropped a bit) full-res 4MP
shot and the adjustment layers I used to create the B&W picture.
If you don't have Photoshop, let me know and I'll post a png.
-
what did you shoot with?
-
Tekie, open the PSD in photoshop and press Alt, Shift, Cntrl - i to see the embedded camera information :)
That will tell you every detail about the shot :)
But to answer your question, I have an Olympus C-4000.

THANK YOU!

Since you all liked those so much, these are some more shots I took today.
I'm participating in a thread regarding macro photography on another forum so I was playing around in my backyard a bit :)
People seemed to enjoy my first ultra-sharp heavy contrast
gritty photo of the back of the road sign, so I added another
photo to make a series.... heavy photoshop influence here.
You will need a VERY sharp CRT or a decent LCD to see
all the detail present in this shot :)

This one has no photoshop work other than a mild
sharpening... the sky was nice and clear today :)

False-color, deeply saturated flowers (a little too
deep on the topmost flower in the background actually)...

Lol, c'mon, you thought those chairs were uncomfortable? There weren't so bad...or maybe I was just too numb to feel otherwise...
But ne who, I loooooooooooove the flowers. Seriously, if I ever needed a photographer, I would totally hire you. My sister minored or majored or something in photography, and she's got nothing on you. But then again, I don't like her, so maybe i'm biased. You should post more! ^_^
