Is that your steam login name?  If not he won't be able to find you by searching for "(PCT)BOOFY".  Or you can post a link to your Steam ID page.

Or just use a much simpler interface such as Xfire.  Then it will track you in all games rather than just the steam ones.

I am pretty sure it does.  I have joined a couple of TF2 games that way I believe.  I don't play a whole lot of games on steam so I am not positive but I am pretty sure I was able to click join player in xfire and it popped me directly into the server.
