SGU

Friday 9:00 PM on SciFi (starts October 2, 2009)

personally, when i first heard the premise (ship lost in space), i immediately, as did others, think of Star Trek Voyager.  Now Voyager was not a bad tv show, not by a long shot, but after 7 years, the constant "we will get home, someday" did get a little old.  But they kept most of the episodes fresh, and kept fresh new badguys coming to keep things interesting.

So, i'm holding out hope that SGU will be as good as SG1 and SGA.

Hmmm... Well first let me say I think you for Keeping it SciFi... Not silly SyFy... *grumbles* Also, it looks more like a Babylon 5 and SG universe collide. And whats with the Gate redesign AGAIN.. The Ancients keep making new models?

hmm, B5 + SG?  Guess it depends on how the 'powers that be' control it.  Many shows have attempted to have a major story-arc and are forced into making episodes with completely independent stories.  B5 is a great example of having a story-arc that spans 4 seasons and is well paced.  Voyager, on the other hand, had the looming "one day we'll get home", but beyond that, each episode was more or less independent.

I'm cool with it either way as long as the writing and acting is good.
