Metal Monthly

Something kinda cool.  A close friend of ours (my wife graduated with him), after 15 years, seems to finally have gotten a good band together.  As a songwriter he is extremely deep and creative and he's not bad as a singer though I don't have the heart to tell him he would benefit greatly from some formal singing lessons.  But considering he never had any formal music training and he plays the guitar as well as sing the talent is definitely there.  He is finally getting recognized and is a featured artist on metal monthly magazine (interview HERE) and will be featured on the underground friday the 8th at Aldo's for their vampire ball.

He has some demos on their MYSPACE that they recorded and mixed at their rehersal hall which is actually the drummers attic.  I think the song 'broken strings' is the one that can get them signed.  They will be recording in a studio mid Feb. and have several parties interested in signing them.

It's hard to believe this is the same guy that used to work for me in the cemetery.

Well for an update the vampires ball at Aldo's rocked, but what rocked even more was watching a record label hand the band a contract that night!  They will be in the studio in 6 weeks now for the label rather than making their own demo and are playing in front of 14,000 in Cleveland next month.

Did I mention their drummer is 17?

Hmm they don't sound too shabby. I've heard some really sh!tty sounding metal bands on myspace before, so compared to those, they don't sound too bad.
