Cant wait, this weekend is looking to be a blast.


The only "lan party" I have been to was at this year's magfest, and my son hogged the computer the whole time. So I have a few questions. 

What non-fps games should I get from steam before coming?  I'm not much of a fps player anymore other than the occasional planetside2. 

Will there be internet enuff to play minecraft on a inet server? I'm loving the new infinity pack.

My son's friend game's on a mac notebook, any issues with that?


Anything else I should know?

Check out this link on the intranet:  http://intranet.fites.net/steamgames

It lists all the owned steam games that everyone who registered on the intranet.  I would base your decision on how many people own the game you are interested in.  Non-FPS games: too many to list.  Go with popular games if you want to play multiplayer.

I would think there would be enough bandwidth for Minecraft....but don't quote me on that.  Every year, like clockwork, the first night of the LAN, don't expect much bandwidth to be available.  No matter how many times we say "update your games prior to coming"  there are always either people who did not update OR steam (steam games) will have an update the night before or morning of. 

MAC's shouldn't be an issue at all AS LONG AS the game you are playing has cross platform multiplayer.  Single player games (if you choose to play them) makes no difference.  As far as networking logistics....no issues there.

I would be down for some Gauntlet at some point.

Ok, gauntlet added and civ installing now, ill get a gamepad thursday at microcenter for gauntlet. 

I got the complete package so we can play whatever expansion you have also. 

And I was planing to hermit myself and just gorge on minecraft this weekend, Now I'm looking forward to it even more, might go get a new vid card for the spare machine I'm bringing for me.  Looks like I can pick up a Radeon R9 270 for a good price.

LOL, just paid full price a few hours ago.   Wonder if they will refund the difference. 

Good luck with that one. I am surprised they gave me a refund on a game I bought. I hear trying to get a refund on a game is impossible. But they did come through with me a credited my steam wallet.

I had this luck as well but because the game for the refund was a Crapty fraud release of Cities XL with just an X added to the name.  Good luck on the Civ5.  You will get your $30 worth of play out of it though.
