They took Quake 2 and remastered it with better graphics!

Display/Console
* Case insensitive
* Better tab autocompletion
* In-line input modificaton (left/right arrow to move cursor, insert toggles override)
* Customizable drop height, transparency, font scale, and font image
* Font ^2color strings^r -- Quake3 in style but changed to my liking
* Able to use *wil*dcards* in aliaslist, cmdlist, cvarlist, and shaderlist console commands
Crosshair
* Customizable color, scale, and transparency (with a transparency pulse option with controllable speed)
* Supports an infinite amount of crosshair images, not just three anymore
HUD
* Customizable HUD scale and transparency
* Ping, map time, framerate, render speeds -- all optionally displayed
Effects
Particles and Decals
* Completely new particle rendering and creation. All effects re-wrote
* Clipped decals!
* Decal and particle level of detail control
* Particle effect 'degree' control (affects how many particles are spawned for any given effect anywhere)
* Particle lighting and per-frame intelligence (physics, etc)
* Frustum culled decals and particles
* Vis culled decals
Models
* Lit per-verex, no more unrealistically solid-lit models!
* Optional stencil shadows

One thing to keep in mind, the Quakecon Q2 tournament will be using the R1CH Q2 client for all "offical" games. This client will run under windows XP, and is an easy install (from what I've heard)
EDIT - link for ease
