Pwnage @ BF2
« on: November 06, 2005, 01:24:30 AM »
I've been so excited about doing this 50 man lan that I've been emersing myself in BF2 online for the past 6 days straight. I do this in a desperate attempt not to be owned in BF2 (I can now fly pretty decent considering last lan, I didn't even know how to get off the ground) I understand the obsticales as I try to become a decent BF2 player in 2 weeks when most of u guys have been constantly playing for over 6 months. In anycase, I believe that spending 8-10 hours and staying up till 3:00 in the morning these past 3 nights in a row (2:23 now) may hopefully pay off. Your thoughts of course are welcomed.

lol thats funny!  I have noticed that very few gamers are expert level at BF2 yet.  I dont think you are THAT far behind the curve.  It is a game with so much detail, that I think that people are just now become masters of it.  Much like it took a while for BF1942 to become mastered since there are so many parts involved.

You'll do just fine!

I have? Hmm...I guess I've been playing in my sleep because I don't remember. In fact, I think I'm still a private.

That's cool though F3ar0n. It's a refreshing change to see someone realize they're not as good as they could be and work at it rather than just come in here, talk trash, and then get pwned themselves. There have been quite a few people like that in the past and it's just such a sad sight.

What class do you play usually? I like Spec Ops. I like blowing up the opposing side's command center, radar, and artillery. So watch out commanders, I'm coming to get you :)
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

Most of time I end up going with assault. This of course is mainly because of the m203 garnade launcher which can come in handy with tanks. That and it offers a fair amount of kick in cse you get caught up in a firefight with someone. I 've also been known to go in sniper mode but it mainly depends on the map (strike on kash. for example where there's a lot of rooftops). I do play as spec because they offer the c4 and it offers a scope which comes in handy (also has fully auto feature...nice). I'm a lance corperal and have gotten 5 badges online and I've only played for 3 days online so it gives you an idea of how much I've been playing (got my basic chopper badge...heh) I guess I'll see how I compare in 6 days...until then, I'll continue my unhealthy gaming habbits.

I just hate playing online, I'd rather play at a LAN.

I was trying to play last night but ran into problems at every turn. First server I connected to, I ran through the shader optimizations, verifying client data, etc. The class selection screen finally comes up and .....boom. Disconnected from server...no explanation.

Second server I connect to I play for a little while and then in the middle of the match I get booted because PunkBuster was unable to communicate back to the main PB server for a period of more than two minutes. Kicked from server again.

Third server I connect to. I get to play through an entire map finally and even finally get my first rank promotion, but at the end it says the match ended in a draw, there were no scores or awards listed for anyone. The next map (Wake Island 2007) starts to load and I am kicked for having "non-standard" game content (I haven't done anything except install a few mods, but that's not changing the original game content and the other maps loaded fine). I check my stats to see my new rank and I'm still back at my old rank with a "last battle" date of October 8th!

On top of all that, 90% of the time the server browser doesn't work after using a search filter. I have to restart the game for any servers to show up again.

It's an excellent LAN game, but as an Internet game, it sucks!

It doesn't really matter how good you get at bf2, the game gets patched every month, almost as bad as CSS.
Intel Core i7, 6GB Triple Channel Ram DDR3 1600, GTX 295, X-fi Elite Pro, 600GB Raid 0 SAS 15K Array, 32K Stripe, 1.5TB Backup, 1.75 TB of Stuff,  Acer 2' Monitor. G9, G15

But honeslty who gives a S**T
