BZZT! PC version is released June 9th as well!

Hmmm...haven't seen it in all the usual places. 360 version is everywhere....
-
The official Prototype website lists places to pre-order the game and they all show the PC version as 6/9, as does IGN.
-
Well, I'll wait until tomorrow to see if gets released in 'all the usual places'.
-
Hehe

I think you are all pulling my chain!!!11one
There is no such game!

This is a game I think I will need to get. I remember seeing a review of it before and thought it looked really cool then. Everything I see about it now just makes it seem even cooler. Kinda bummed there is no multiplayer for the game, but still should be a cool single player game.

I'm really looking forward to this game. I got a chance to try it out at a conference a few years back and I was really impressed; it wasn't even close to finished then, so I can't wait to see what improvements have been made.
-
Never even heard of it... *sigh*
-
So....did it get released on time for the PC?

Yes it did. Steam says it is available today.

Ahh, yes...I just checked all the usual places and it is everywhere. So it should be a couple days before I get it...all.

So I played prototype last night for a while. Fun game, but I am not impressed with the GFX. Some of the poly counts for the main models seem very low. And I have all the settings at max. Combat is interesting, lots of combos and different actions depending on what your character is doing. "Consuming" NPC's is interesting, you can run while consuming them and it looks like you are slurrping up spaghetti. Object interaction is minimal. Storyline is sparse....but keeps the game going. The neat part is jumping from rooftop to rooftop. And the upgrade system seems to be pretty deep. I'll try and get some screenshots and post them tonight.

My favorite part of the game is actually showing other people how ridiculous things can get in regards to the multiple ways to disembowel, slaughter or otherwise destroy all the NPCs and Vehicles and what not. I watched my friend play it on XBOX 360 with some other friends and we kept telling him to keep going and buy more moves and stuff -- I'm at about the point where he was showing us stuff, now too.
While I can see how eventually it'll lose it's holy Crap factor, it's still fun to play around and see how wicked you can be.

I beat the game and got at least a gold on all the side missions. I had a blast the entire time. A lot of people give the game flak for it's graphics, but there is A LOT going on in the game. At one point I was flying a chopper shooting rockets all over the place while there were 3 tanks on the ground fighting about 4-5 hunters, explosions were all over the place and there were tons of pedestrians/infected/military personnel running around and the framerate was solid (Xbox 360 version). Considering all that, the models and textures don't bother me so much. I mean, while it lacks graphic "punch," it's still not a bad looking game.

This game is amazing. I like the fact that you're next to indestructible. Rockets are the only thing that can really hurt you.
