Title: Projectors for gaming
Post by: zx2slow on June 17, 2006, 09:09:57 PM
Has anyone seen a projector setup for PC computing/gaming?  I think it would be a cool idea and I know someone has had to of done it before.  I am kicking a** in unreal (I dominate at sniping) and a wider feild of view would be awsome.

Do projectors suffer from ghosting or anything?  I kinda want to get away from my PC being at a desk, my HTPC and my backup rig really dont get alot of use.

Yeah, people have been using projectors for gaming for quite a while now. Projectors are either LCD or DLP based, the same tech used in TV's. So I'd expect ghosting to be better on a DLP than an LCD, but even so, it shouldn't be too bad with an LCD based projector given the advances in that technology.

I think tekie has done this. I seem to remember him talking about it when Doom 3 came out.

we used a dlp projector to do halo2/nfsu when they first came out on an xbox, multiplayer kicked ass. no real noticable ghosting or anything
