The last trailer that is, before the release date. (unless this was already posted. in which case, forgive me.)
Release date is supposedly Feb.16th. Looks like we'll have something plenty gory to fall back on if the BC2 beta/demo is hard to come by for everyone.

Well the demo is out... It is only multiplayer... I have yet to play due to the matchmaking ability but I do believe if we can put together a group this could be fun... Hit me up if you are interested...

Whew. Not that I'm in it for the multiplay, but it's nice to see that they are officially supporting dedicated servers. Predalien gogogo!

Yeah...played the demo and ummm....I really do not like it. It looks pretty for a DX9 game buuuuut: Controls are sluggish at best, playing as a marine is pointless, and the aliens seem to have a weird lag when they attack. All in all it's a confusing mess.
This game will be in the $20 bin at walmart in a couple of months.
Now, Curse and I were discussing this and apparently this is a 'beta' from something like a year or so ago. The final game better be much better than this. If they want to sell this game then they really need to put out a real demo and not some junk like this.
EDIT: I gave it a second chance and I guess I am just not getting the mechanics of this game. The 'transition' between surfaces as the alien is really bad and not fluid at all. In AVP1 and 2 all you had to do was hold the shift key down and you could crawl anywhere. In this version sometimes it doesn't want you to go from the wall to the ground and vice versa.
I'll give it a third chance when the real game comes out. Until then...they ruined this game for me.

This is my last rant...but I think this quote from the steam forums just about sums up my experience with this game. All in all it is just a console port.
Hey guys,
Just wanted share my 2p.
Let's start off on the gameplay. Im going to ignore the horrible matchmaking as its very clearly just a direct port of the console interface, broken at that.
Where do I start, the first thing your going to notice, is how strangely slow it feels, the controls are very clunky, it feels like you weight about 1 ton as you slowly move around and clunkily sprint. To me, this is clearly the effect of the game being console centralised, it cant move too fast, or too complicated as theres limitations with the casual user and a joypad.
The aliens pounce.. It seems your not allowed to make your own pounces anymore, you have to look at a well and click to go there, you certainly can't pounce straight forward like AvP 2. And to wall walk, you have to "transition", seriously, what was wrong with just holding a button to wallwalk?. Oh wait, probrably wouldn't work with a controller right?. Bingo!. ♥♥♥♥, they even made it so easy now you can just set an option to do all the wallwalking for you! Sit back, relax, and go make some coffee.
The Marine, hmm, hes painfully slow, his sprint could be slower and his walk a tad faster to even things out. His jump is pretty much useless, and I really hate this press "x" to climb over ♥♥♥♥, thats clearly just a console feature because casual players dont like to jump by themselves, they want the game to transition them from A to B with the press of a button, wow, this in a PC version? sucks, but I can kind of live with it.
OK heres the big one!. Crouch! There's no f-in crouch!?. So some idiots say; "who cares why would you want to crouch?." Well, um lets see?. To hide maybe!? but wait, there's more!. You see, back in the day when people played real FPS, crouch actually made your aim more accurate, the spread of the weapon tightened!. I know, crazy right!? wtf!. Apparently, there's no need for this in AvP, as your spread is totally static, theres no crouching for a more precise shot, and your accuracy is completely static, again, dare I say, another console feature. Console players have trouble aiming with a controller, especially casual player, they certaintly wouldnt want to have spread or any sort of accuracy control system, just spray and pray pl0x. Again probrably because there arent enough buttons on a joypad. (In AvP2, crouch and wallwalk for the alien were too seperate things,(you used crouch and jump to make a high jump, was handy for dodging marines in close combat, In this, your just locked into crouch mode.)
The Predator, ok, hes probrably got the least ammount of gripe from me, Only things I dont really like that are exclusive to him are the wierd FOV, seems like your constantly zoomed in, even when zoomed fully out, and secondly, instead of having his cool crouch jump, he now has this auto jump thing where again, you just tell him where to jump and bam, off you go, all done at the press of a button, totally unthrilling and again, the limitations of a controller.
Now lets move onto the button E, a very powerful button indeed, infact, it's probrably the only button you need. The game has now deteriorated into a press E war, you just constantly strafe eachother and press E until wait for it, yep, you guessed it, sit back and let the game do it for you!, you just earned yourself a frag!. No skillz required, just press E.
Continuing with the button E, why do I have to HOLD it to pick up items, surely thats a console requirement as that button probrably does a few things?, but wait, im not playing on a console, I have a keyboard, why can't I just press E and that be that, my items picked up?. The same goes for the weapon selection, why can't I just press 1-9 and thats that, instead of this again console like interface where I have to press a button, wave a magic wand, do a jig, close my eyes, and maybe I'll have that weapon out, but it probrably wont matter, as somones already "E'd" me to death by that point ^^.
The graphics arent anything groundbreaking, but nothing I'm complaining about either, but again, limited by console hardware, can't really see DX11 making that much of a difference as at heart its just another DX9 game.
The atmosphere is quite nice, animations are ok, nothing to complain about, all In all, you'll find this MILDLY entertaining for about 5 minutes, and then all these gaping problems come to the surface. Could it really be that hard to fix all the things wrong with the PC version?. I mean, read my gripes, they could all be cured very easily actually.
Lose the E kill crap, its a ♥♥♥♥ing joke, total casual gamer and console like (perfectly acceptable if its some sort of finisher you can do on somone with low HP or something), lose the aliens wallwalking ♥♥♥♥, make it a key you hold down, same for the predators jump, give me crouch and accuracy control back, and seriously, this would be a pretty decent PC title, but as It stands, nothing more than a broken promise and a DX9 console made game, very un-true to the original PC titles, and another slap in the face of people who just want a decent PC FPS that plays like a PC FPS should, and NOT a console one.
Before console fanbois start ♥♥♥♥♥ing, consoles cant do FPS, sorry son, they can't, it's fine for average joe who does an hour a day or something, but for true PC gamers and people looking for a competative game, its a jarate take. Games that consoles can do, and should always do are sports, racing, and fighters. FPS however, they are ruining it as a genre because mass idiots accept dumbed down ♥♥♥♥ over true FPS games.
More $$$ for lies from another dev. Good job

I figured they would screw this up. I can't recall what game they recently released before this. But that also sucked as well. If this was made by Monolith it would be awesome.
-
I'm still going to give it a shot. After all, I just want a decent single-player story out of this. Who knows, it might end up being like Deus Ex 2 where it's a good game, but just didn't live up to the potential it had.

I will 'try before I buy' for the SP mode. Or maybe that's try not to buy. I get them confused.

There was a patch yesterday evening that addressed the multiplayer lag and server problems. I played today and it was much better. Smoother, quicker and more fun. Once you learn your characters moves it's a lot of fun. I think im gonna preorder it tonight.

I find it to be who ever hits E first wins.

With the "E" grab attacks you are vulnerable while you perform them so while you may pull off the move if someone else is near by you will die right away when you finish the move... Now one of the main issues I see with this demo is the fact that it is deathmatch... So you have 3 different classes not working together in mayhem, not fun... This game has potential with it's multiple multiplayer options... I think this demo is very unfair to judge the game by... That's my input... Try it make your own decision...
