Title: Post your desktop October Edition
Post by: .:F3ar0n:. on October 11, 2010, 06:21:37 PM
I remember we used to do this all the time Agent, Dave and a few others. Showing off some awesome bbLean configs from back in the day. Figured I'll bring it back (just like sexy)

Unfortunately, with the epic taskbar that Win7 introduced, I haven't used bblean since. And all of my desktops for the past year have just been recent renders of whichever current project I've been working on. In this case, the current FITES video.

Hey fearon, what were the apps you used to show the time on the desktop like that.  And the drives and other stuff too.  Is that all bblean?

Is that a FITES video or a stream capture of some space station targeting system?

Just whatever you do, don't search for 126 Lark Cir..... ah, crap.

It's all from rainmeter. Different skins. The one your talking about is called Fade by FreakQuency

I found a nice sidebar gadget that displays all the pertinent info about your system.  Network speeds, drive status, cpu speeds, etc.  It isn't clickable to get to the drives etc but it is nice to have.

My backgrounds for my new laptop.  I am set on keeping the desktop clean with no icons...not even the recycle bin.

Was wondering if anyone here could help me figure out a 2 small non-problems I'm having with a skin for rainmeter? Google-Fu, Code-Fu, Kung-Fu.... whatever works.

If it's at all possible, I want to modify this http://customize.org/rainmeter/skins/66668 (http://customize.org/rainmeter/skins/66668) "Linear Clock" a bit. My first step was to do transparency, which wasn't a problem what with rainmeter giving the option for various levels. My second step, which is part one of what I'm seeking help for, is to make the number at the end of the bar come off as bright and non-transparent and I don't know how that can be pulled off, if at all. The third step is to change the colors of the bars themselves to a different color and keep them that color.

When I look at the .ini, I see a variables section that gives some form of control, but.... I'm lost past that. I left a comment/question at customize.org, but I figured I'd drop a line here since I might get a faster response.

Yeah I have tried to use rainmeter a few times.. i could never get the whole skin to load and always had a few widgets that didn't work.

Knightzero I love that third picture you posted with the grey and red color scheme.. How did you get that?

I'm neither the creator, nor do I know him, but the theme that I'm using on the laptop (And the desktop for that matter) is called Dynamic Black.  Found it surfing DeviantArt a few months ago.  Looks good with or without Aero running (the laptop's videocard doesn't have the horsepower to support Aero effects).  The default image rotation he includes with the theme was perfect for my laptop - understated, but stylish.  The desktop got something more extravagant just for the sake of pimping the dual monitors.

Muahahaha!

This is not my desk, but is probably what a lof of you imagine my pc room looks like. While I do keep guns close to the PC, they are in a better ready state. Yes, that is an XM214 in the corner.
