Title: possible BF2 server for fites

Jimu and i were talking about teh possibility of getting a BF2 dedicated server going and the price would be $32 for an unranked  32 person server.  If anyone would be interested in this please respond because we would split the cost between us all. 

If it goes through we would have weekend tourneys which could be a lot of fun.

We could always test it out on hamachi first to see how it plays out.

I think it would rock.

BF2 is a hell of a lot of fun but at the large LANs, but seems to only get a small handful of people playing during free play. I`d be happy to contribute a little to the cause to see how it works out.

I would be interested but it being an unranked server will keep me away from it.  I didn't work that long to not use my unlocks.

I was looking at the bf2 dedicated launcher and there is a box to check to run "globalRanked" SO maybe we should try this on hamachi and see if it works.  Because of prices this might be the only way to do it.  Run our own server for free.  Pings should be descent and we can then see how much of an interest we have for the game.

Running a ranked server won't work on Hamachi.  The server reports to EA's main 'server' to see if it is a valid ranked server.

well we don't have to do it actually in hamachi. run it off one of our servers as a legit version.  After all BF2 is dirt cheap these days.

You can 't unlock all the weapons for everyone, you have to earn them in ranked servers before you can use them.

Correction::::  you can't run a ranked server without renting an official server:(

Guess that makes sense.
