New BF3 Update
« on: February 23, 2012, 10:20:27 AM »
Seems like its making it a little more arcadish.  Lots of things becoming "faster".  We'll see how much this effects everything.  The update isnt out quite yet.

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/news/view/2832654779195992365//

Just a few.
Quote
-Players should no longer take fall damage from short falls.
-Players now get up from Prone slightly faster, allowing better odds of getting away from a grenade or threat when prone.
-Reduced the black screen fade in time on spawn. The fade is still necessary for properly streaming in loading content at spawn, but it has been substantially reduced.
-Increased the spawn protection time from 1sec to 2sec. The protection will still be immediately canceled as soon as the player moves or shoots.
-Spawn protection will no longer be canceled by the player looking around.
-Switching from primary weapons to sidearms and back now takes less time.
-Fixed several issues with vaulting objects, especially for thin railings.

I'm glad they're making the prone to stand faster.  And switching weapons a little faster.  It just seems like your soldier has no sense of urgency when standing up from prone.

And fixing vaulting is HUGE.

Huzzah on that no damage from short falls. Like WTF I can take that in real life, why no ultramarine be strong?

Also, laughed my ass off when I read this:

I still wish the MAV could be used to call in a strike or at least a guided missile.

What if bodies just had random errors like computers do?
You go to receive your Starbucks coffee and accidentally punch the Barista in the face then Crap on the floor.
What kind of Fudgeing computer errors are you getting?

Do we have to update this for the LAN?  I see a mess coming on with incompatibility.

I've got dual 105mb modems from Comcast for us this year, which actually top out around 115. So that's 230mb of interwebs for us to slurp down any patch that gets thrown our way at the last minute (as it always does ;) )
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!
