Network speeds and switches
« on: February 23, 2010, 04:07:12 PM »
I remember that last year all the tables had 10/100 switches in the middle of them. Are things going to be the same this year or are we going to have access to gig-E switches? That being said, if not, will there be enough cat6 running around to hook directly into separate switches if we're still limited to 10/100?

Between Strahd414 and myself, we could probably bring 3-4 10/100/1000 switches for our table if it'd help out.

DO NOT bring any additional network gear.  There will be 10/100 switches at the middle of all the tables for use and they will be the ONLY switches that will be allowed connectivity to our network.

Aside of using the network for *cough* file transfers, there is no need to exceed 100MB connectivity for gaming.

Just for emphasis...

Do NOT bring your own frakking switches!
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!
