So I am about to receive a check for $225 for some work I performed last week.
I have about $300 remaining on my credit card, and I normally pay off $100 on it each month.
I also don't game nearly as much as I used to, nor have much desire to do so.
Do I:
1. Put the money on the CC and finally pay it off?
2. Buy a new video card?

what video card do you have now? I know at one point i wasnt gaming hardly at all because my card was running everything really crappy. I bought a new card and some ram and I started gaming again. 7800gt is in that range and it's supposed to be kickass.

I have an ATI 9500 Pro

yea i would say get the card unless your pretty certain that a new card isnt going to change your gaming enthusiasm. And on that note maybe waiting a while till the next generation of cards comes out will be a better option for you.
Right now im using a x800xtpe and im not buying anymore hardware till at least march 06 or later. So im saving some money every week for a truly kickass system and video card. I want 512MB of ram on it and at least 32 pipelines. i'll spend $700 for it and not a cent more. maybe i'll get the fx60 by then too that would be awesome.

Being the hardware whore, I was going to say go for the video card.
OOOO..pay off the card, then charge a new one video card. Dilema solved.

That's exactly what I did do a few weeks ago. I was in Best Buy just looking around when I wander into the video card aisle. Staring me in the face was a BFG 6800 GT OC. I thought to myself....."Hey, I just paid off my credit card, I can get this and not worry about denting my bank account." And having been stuck in a GeForce 5600 FX for way too long (nearly identical performance to the GeForce3 Ti200 I had before that), I couldn't stand the pisspoor performance any more.
I paced back and forth for a bit, and then grabbed the card and ran to the register before I could change my mind. The way I look at it, I just paid off the card in full a few weeks earlier, I put some back on it, and now I'll pay it off in full again in a couple weeks. That's got to look good on a credit report, right?

You'll need the card seeing as how i'll be kicking your ass all over the place again, the more FPS you can get, the better... :boxer:
