Follow the link to a free copy of what microsoft has used to replace windows one care which was a pay program.  But now they are giving this new version away for free!

Read an article about it today. It's supposedly being developed as their version of Norton, but free.

I ask because most of the free AV apps won't run on a server os.  The only one I found, or was found for me was ClamWin.
That's Mr. Deception to you.

I just uninstalled avast last night in favor of this. The avast free version doesn't have a scheduler :P

Whats a schedule..?
---
But seriously, with "on access" scanning why bother running a scan at all more or less on a schedule?  You only need to do a scan initially one time or after getting infected.   :idunno:  I mean I get that it has an extra feature that avast doesn't have.  But it's just a feature that I don't get or care about.  Maybe I just like to compute dangerously.  :nerd2:

Or you compute carefully enough. I just don't know if I can trust a company to put out a product that fixes a problem with one of their other products... I mean, why hide security issues forever and not fix them?  It's like a boat maker selling you a leaky boat and giving you free bubble gum.

MBAM does have realtime protection, just not on the free version. The pay version does. Is that what you meant?
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

Well, the other thing is that it seems to use less resources than avast. That's a good enough reason for me.

The Burning sensation means it's working.

It's like a boat maker selling you a leaky boat and giving you free bubble gum.

But then when the virus gets cleaned and breaks the OS is like the bubblegum turns to acid and makes a bigger hole in effect sinking said boat made buy the same manufacturer, who is willing to sell support to raise said sunken boat.

How are you measuring this? With just RAM usage? How about IO calls?
