About three weeks before I moved I called verizon to tell them that I wanted to move my service (FiOS and Phone) to my new address, they informed me that DSL is the only internet service they have that is available. They offered my $10 a month in a bundle for 3M/768K DSL. They informed me that I couldn't use my westell wirespeed DSL modem and they would send somebody between 8-12 on Monday to install DSL ( WTF?!? I can plug a modem into a wall)
So I moved on Saturday, when I moved in to my new place I found that Verizon ran fibre for FiOS into a closet. Monday came and passed, I called verizon, they told me that DSL would be available in two weeks, bummer. The FiOS installer people said I will have FiOS in a month (They also said TV would be available too). I am canceling my DSL and waiting for FiOS, theres no way I'm buying a modem and paying for this to get installed for 2-3 weeks of use.
On to comcast (sorry sully), They didn't show in their five hour window, so we left. We came back to a door hanger saying they were there three hours late. We called comcast to reschedule and they told us that it was marked complete. We are currently being charged for rent for two digital boxes and charged for digital service, we told them we are getting neither and they kept trying to tell us really did have those boxes and services were working (The computer knows better than us).

Unofficially, the people at the call center are stupid. You are much better off going into one of the offices and talking to one of the people at the counter. And I bet it was a contractor who was late, those guys are horrible, I wish we didn't have to use them at all.

My mom will love to hear that fios tv is going to be available next month. Again no offense to sully, she just wants off comcast. We have had it quiet awhile now, it has been relatively good to us.
