Title: June Desktop
Post by: Agent4054 on June 14, 2008, 10:53:29 AM
Started the topic since fearon suggested it, and decepticon wanted to check out bblean. So here is the Desktop that I've had for awhile now:

I made all of the icons on the side wharf, as well as the icons on the trays when they pop out. I spent a lot of time on my interface, so don't expect to look all too fancy when you first load it up, decepticon. Like I said on teamspeak, the majority of my friends who have tried bblean have only kept it up for about a week (or less) before giving up on it. They were either impatient, or they just didn't like it. But if you need help on getting any part of it working, or how to manipulate it, just PM me or IM me, or tell me to get on teamspeak.

BBLean here as well just with a little Sharp-E and Carbon mixed into the style. Enjoy (I'm too lazy to make my own icons so I just steal other ppls styles and slap em all together into 1 big bblean style) Biggest plus on this bad boy is the run menu at the top start menu. Easy access so I can launch paint or cmd without making 2 clicks to do so! Plus the icons have a KDE look to em which makes it l33t!

Hmm looks like I need to update some of my stuff again. Since when did they add support for rounded borders? :P

It's a modified version of BBLEAN which I took with the carbon modified theme. Just changed simple stuff such as menu's and some plugins between the 2. The majority of the theme though is based on SharpE. I'll prob do more to make it more "unique" but for the most part its a solid BBLEAN Mod right of the box. There really isnt much of anything to config

Hmmmm.. I think I might check out LiteStep. I remember checking out the site in the past, but never actually tried it. I thought about other shells, but I don't want to lose my precious right click menu ability =(

EDIT: Holy Crap. Looking at the screens to some of the themes... they look SLICK! Now I HAVE to try it.

doesn't look too bad, i might have to start using something like that.  Font choice is kinda sucky... hard to read.

Fully customizable though... just like bblean :) So font choice is easily remedied.

Wow that is pretty freakin sweet...If you wanna check out any others. I've tried SharpE and a few other non bblean skins which are still pretty neat

Wellllll... I tried LiteStep. It was pretty cool and the themes were very slick indeed, BUT... not being able to easily customize the shell and make tweaks is a major major turnoff. You CAN... but it's way harder than bblean.

I know...I wanna resize the menu bars and junk on SharpE as well but unless I go digging for some config files to do it manually, I cant. Plus I'm not sure if I can install custom plugins as well. I'd like to get the nice gui RSS feed plugin and the weather plugin going. I have the weather now but it's built into the task bar. You loose a lot of customization with prebuilds but they're really pretty nice once u tweak em a little
