Steve Jobs is the devil.

Android > iPhone.
-
well then ill be there alone :bigcry: but thats cool im in need of a new iphone as im still using the 3g and omg with update after update its gotten slow
-
I have an iPhone 4! It has 13,000 polygons! :hehemean:
-
my phone has a registry, how 'bout yours? ;)
-
I will let you all rush out and let me know how it is. I have had the iOS4 since WWDC and I really like it. Except since I updated the ESPN app my battery life seems not as good. Could just be a coincidence.
Android > iPhone.
Which one? There are lots of different hardware vendors. And I find the OS awful.
-
HTC makes the best hardware. But the droid phones have a wider feature set with a open marketplace.
You don't see any HOWTO's on life hacker about cracking open a MoTo droid or HTC incredible and soldering on some feature it doesn't have like the iPad/Phone. The lengths Apple sheeple go through to have a fully functional device while blindly claiming some sort of superiority is insane.
Some dude was pitching Howard Stern to leave Sirius radio and just push out a podcast twice a week instead. This guy was trapped in some sort of App Store/iTunes echo chamber of stupidity.

My Nokia is so much better then Iphone4 or the droid incredible/evo.

It is the ringtone that makes it better right?

Who's the fanboi now? I am looking for the "it just works" solution; for me that is superior. But then there I go again. Buying what I want fully aware of it's limitations. Silly me.

Hello... is anybody there?
... the day Shoctor's phone busted that one out on me was the day I knew the Iphone was alright in my book.
I use a moto droid, which I do like, I just wish the damn thing had flash capabilities...

Did you update to Froyo yet?
-
They haven't pushed 2.2 to our phones yet. We are still on 2.1 for the moto droid. From what the boards are saying its looking like 3rd quarter... maybe even 4th.

Thats the thing, the interface is dead simple, I even appreciate it. Other than the UI its a crummy smart phone, not some techno revolution sheeple make it out to be. I dont hate the phone, I hate the hype for what would be regarded as a medoicre phone without the apple logo.

Unfortunately sully they said we were going to have full flash support with the jump to 2.1 back in March. Hopefully they follow through. With the announcement of the motor x and the HTC incredible both having crazy specs ( both have the snap dragon 1 ghz processor and claim to be coming out with 512 MB of ram) they should be 0 issues being able to support full flash 10.1. Fingers crossed it cones to us early in q3
-
Right now the moto x prototype is running 2.1... i would imagine that bumping to 2.2 and coming out with flash. No way they would be dumb enough to roll it out without flash capabilities. If they do, they shouldnt be in the Fudgeing smart phone business.
-
The Driod does.....n't do flash either. But from a programing standpoint Flash wasn't designed for touch screens. I mean, there is no mouse over event. I get clicks and drags even double clicks but there is no mousein, mouseout, hover action.

Do you mean that there is no hover, in or out action on touch screens? Or in flash in general.

Go go Droid Marketplace!

No on touch screens... flash has those events... That's how it knows where your mouse pointer is.

iPhone4 vs HTC Evo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL7yD-0pqZg#)
-
Bought one for my wife. I personally will be waiting for Windows 7 before deciding between that an droid.
-
zx, that was pretty damn funny
-
So screw waiting until Q3. 1 firmware downgrade, 2 hours and few how to guides and guess who has 2.2 and full flash support :-D
Hulu works too :-)
-
1 firmware downgrade, 2 hours and few how to guides
Well, I guess since I don't have a droid and don't use hulu I saved 2 hours?
I like my iPhone... It does what I want... I don't have these piles of make believe problems. Sorry for being a "dumb mother Fudgeer" for choosing what best fits my needs... Everyone says that AT&T is crap, but where I live Verizon and Sprint have Crapty coverage... AT&T is the only one to hit all the areas I go to.
Also, you will never have full flash support on a touch device... Can't be done. Sure you can click and watch videos, but the commands based on mouse position just can't be done with the interface no matter what device.
But wait this thread just started from Nitro asking who was getting an iPhone 4 and became an iPhone bashing thread.
So in conclusion I am going to buy what I want with my money.
-
I has a dumb phone.... :dizzy:
-
Remember when Motorola Razers were the Crap? Yea well I still got one...
-
I'm just happy no one really mention crack berry's here. and if they did, i'musta i blocked it.

The problem as reported is that the signal strength weakens consistently when the phone is held in a certain way. This is clearly a hardware issue
All mobile phones will have signal strength weakened when you cover the antenna area with the hand. That's physics, not a design problem. Whether you notice the problem or not depends on how strong the signal from the base station is in the first place.
The problem reported was the number of bars that this lost. e.g. from the article that was linked to from the first slashdot article on this issue:
"Signal drops from 4-5 bars to 'searching for signal...' when I hold it in my palm or cover up the line on the lower left side of the phone," reported a user identified as "yoshjosh" on the thread. "I understand that cell signals may degrade when you cover up the antenna, but I have never seen anything this severe, and I'm not holding the phone differently than I think most people hold their phones. This is a real issue."
Other phones might drop one bar when you cover the antenna with your hand. The iPhone with it's current software might drop 4 bars. That doesn't mean that the signal to the iPhone is dropping more than the other phone. Just that the algorithm used for the display is different.
If Apple is switching to the algorithm that the US carrier suggests, then that is a perfectly reasonable move.

Well I WILL mention my Blackberry. I definitely don't claim it is a "better" phone, but I'm kinda with Shoctor on this; it does what I want, and I'm pretty happy with it. I suppose I wouldn't mind having an Iphone 4 though; my cousin has one. I was using it earlier today and I have to admit it's pretty nice. Truth be told though, I wouldn't mind having a Droid either. So I guess the purpose of my post is to say that they all seem like fine devices to me.
