K,

I know its a long shot but hey, it could happen someday (sorta gotta play first in order to win...but I'm not a big lottery fan) Pretty much, I'll post my uber gaming rig to build and see if anyone has any changes they would make. Granit this system would be through the charts expensive, but hey anythings possible.

Starting things off....

For a case, I would choose the Cooler Master 830

The case is amazing for cooling and suppost to be really the best one out there. It just looks bad ass all the way too...

No doubt for a processor, I would go with the fx60 duel core. Its the best thing out there right now and blows away the p4EE...

The mobo I would go with hasn't come out yet, but it's suppost to later this year. Its going to be a take off the Asus A8n-SLi mobo but I'll explain why I choose this mobo later...

The Ram is a a no brainer. Gotta go with Corsair XMS ram.

The Hd would be 4 WD Raptor X 150 GB runing in raid 0 setup. I figure that would leave plenty of space for my power hungy machine. The specs for the new raptor 10,000 rpm are very impressive. This being it remains fairly cool under fast speed seeking conditions. Oh, did I mention the Access time of 8.2 ms?

The graphics card is where my dream comp comes to life... I'm going with the new Asus N7800GT Vid card. This card is running 2 7800gt gpu's on a single card. It outperforms sli running 7800 in sli but a slim margin. Of course I'm going with the upcoming asus mobo which will allow u to run quad gpu by running 2 n7800gt cards in sli. Imagine the frames...

I'll run a water cooling system as always, probilly a Thermaltake Bigwater 2 system, mainly becuase thats what I have now in my system and it is really a sweet setup.

And the Usual 2 dvd/rw drives duel layer 16x. Probilly from NEC because there drives seem to hold up. Did I miss anything? Let me know what you would change on my uber comp config...

I'd hire people at MIT to produce a new card with AI on it that'd be solely dedicated to making fun of your computer's wang.

go with server grade shiz, dual dual core opterons, sli board, scsi/fibre channel storage, max ram on board, M-audio/MOTU soundcard.
All dangerden watercooling system.

What about duel xeon's 3.6's with the asus nv7800gt runninng duel channel 4 gb with 4 150gb raptor x drives?and somehow manage vaporchill cooling to have the case run at 0 degrees C...Then we can oc the 3.6 to 5 ghz flat (has been done without braking the 10c mark)

so a 10ghz rig...that sounds nice

I actually agree with VD. The only reason I am into technology is because my job requires it. If I no longer needed to have a job, technology would be much less important....

And while I don't know if I would solely live in that cabin, that might be one of my vacation spots!
