Anyone remember BBS's?

What language does MUD use? Isnt it like C or C++ or something?

MOO uses its own language unfortunately, so the uber mad skillz I have in it are absolutly worthless outside of the game.

Id love to try a MUD though.. Never really got in to them.

the one I am looking at uses LPC a derivative of C.  The nice thing about LPC is that it uses a MudOS to drive the network aspects of the game and a MudLib to shape the game to the design you want.  An easy one I found is called Dead Souls Mudlib.  You can actually do the coding in game if you want.  You simply copy the item, modify it, and save it then load it and you are done.  The same goes for rooms.

Doh!!!

I give up.... Delete my account. I'll recreate it later and see if that fixes it (I told you I broke it)
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

Ok, so I downloaded and installed the mud on my slackware box.  I logged in locally and created an admin.  I use dyndns and have an address setup for the mud.  Can I use this address to log into the mud??  Everytime I try it says the connection is denied.  You guys try and connect and see what happens.  The address is telnet://rathe.kicks-ass.net 6000

*Update*  I got a friend from xfire to connect and it does work I just can't connect using that name.  Come on in and try it out.
