Well, instead of being overpriced gaming machines they'll now be mega-conglomerate owned gaming machines.

Have you seen their revised XPS, they throw in a 30 inch monitor just for kicks. Alienware still makes some good stuff but now the competition is getting stiffer. Not like it was stiffer to begin with, I don't know it is hard to say this can go either way depending on where you look at it.

Dell is now selling a quad SLI, I can see the xps line being moved to the alienware side of their buisness and dells just becomeing general use PC's

I think Dell tried too hard too late to get into the gaming industry. When people see "Dell" they see "Business" and "Home" use written all over it.  When you hear "Alienware" all that comes to mind is "Gaming Machine".

Great move for Dell, terrible for Alienware.   The paper said everything will be seperate but the same was said with Compaq and HP and you see where that went.   I give it 2 years and the Alienware brand will integrate somehow with Dell but won't be seperate any longer.   It's a waste from a business sense to have 2 of everything.
