Hello old friend.
« on: January 04, 2010, 09:52:46 PM »
It's Digr again.  Just wanted to let any of you that may be curious know I had so much fun at the 150 man lan last year I will be attending the 200 man lan this year plus I am bringing a guest along.  A total computer gaming noob who will be using my spiffy laptop.  Gotta see what games I need to get for it.  In addition I am planning on staying the whole event (someone pick rathe up off the floor please).  The party will be in Digrs room during downtime lol.

Incidentally +5 nerd points to whoever can identify where the topic title quote came from. (nothing to do with eric clapton for those using google)

also, is there an option through fites to book a room or do we do that ourselves through the venue?

Babylon 5
Ambassador Jeffrey Sinclair: [Delenn plays message] Hello old friend.

IMDB FTW!

If that's not the one you had in mind, there are also two TNG episodes that use that line, both spoken by Picard (results 7 & 8, here)

Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

Actually it was B5 but it was Garibaldi that played the message after Sinclair went back in time.  "Hello old frield" was the password.  Good job though.

Good to see you will be attending again Digr.  We need to get another LAN going at your place too.  Do you know if any of the guys from iO will be attending?

I posted it on the iO forums last night and there has been some interest.  Most of them are in NY and a few in jersey so I'm hopeful.

And no, rathe won't be using my laptop lol.  PC gaming noob indeed.  No this guy has only played consoles, PS3 mainly.  I may have to soil my alienware laptop by hooking up a 360 controller (shudder) if he can't get the hang of mouse/kb.

I think it's not soiling if you are using it for a platformer or driving game... but for FPS... That is definitely prohibited!

Well I don't think there will be many tourneys for platformers or driving games at the lan.  It would be some funny Crap though if he uses a controller and wins a fps tourney.  No one could ever live that one down.
