Title: Harrisburg Game Dev Meetup
Post by: Agent4054 on May 14, 2012, 09:52:46 AM
I think a few of you know that I got into game development a little over a year ago and have been plowing away at it. Recently, Andy Male, Lead Programmer for Lighthammer, and Tony Ortega from Harrisburg University have organized an IGDA (www.igda.org (http://www.igda.org)) chapter in Harrisburg for existing game devs as well as for anyone looking to get into game dev.

I figured I might as well post a notice about it here, just in case any of you guys are interested in something like this. You can find out more info here: http://www.meetup.com/hbggamedev/ (http://www.meetup.com/hbggamedev/) We already have 17 People who have RSVP'd at the time of this post.

I probably should have posted this sooner, as the meetup is this Saturday. But we'll be doing this every two months, in case you are unable to make it to this.

Just to clarify something, though we do want to start an IGDA chapter as a result of this meetup, this is not an IGDA group.  We are going to try building up enough of a community that we can submit for chapter founding, so this will pretty much end up being an IGDA chapter, but IGDA membership will never be required.

Cool.  I've been laying out the foundations for a mod for a while now, but working solo is a little daunting, plus I don't know anything haha.  I am a good artist though and have been messing around in blender.
