Yes there is gonna be a movie most likely. From a gamespot news article from 2 days ago said that microsoft sent representatives dressed as non other then master chief himself to various studios in cali. All of them except 2 didnt reply. Universal and Fox are gonna do the project. Fox is gonna handle foreign affairs and universal is gonna handle domestic here in the states. Microsoft wants 75 million already invested by the lucky SOB who decides to make the movie. So they have to spend that money upfront b4 the hire actors and a director. Ouch, that and microsoft wants 15 million dollars of the gross of what the movie takes in and 15% of ticket sales. I no microsoft big firm that buys everyone out. So Universal and Fox told them they will do it but only if is 10 million in gross and about 5% of ticket sales. So now bill gates either takes or trashes the movie. Or some other big mircosoft executive. If the go along with it it should be in theatres no later then Summer of 2007!. We can only pray, and another thing microsoft doesnt want to follow the movie based on the 2 games at all. They want it to be entirely different from the 2, but universal and fox will only do the if it follows Halo and 2 and infamous 3 as a prelude to 3. And with Bungies help of course. So there u have it and universal is also doing DOOM with The Rock. Now they have there hands full.
