i used the frederick MD server and my download was 16840 kbps and up was 362kbps all with a 30 ping. not too shabby at those speeds. who needs fios?
-
Are you sure you got 16840 down? That seems really high.
I got 5959 down and 319 up.
edit: I just did it again using the NY server and got 7558 down and 318 up.
Also, if you scroll down you can get this:

yea i ran it 3 times to make sure and each time it came up between 14ooo and 16000. comcast has really increased the speed in my neighborhood the past month or 2. I even tried a different server and it wasnt quite as high but it was still over 11000.
-
I just ran San Jose and i only got a 3770 down.
-
now whos that guy that just got the fios installed i want to see him run this and see his results!

Now i am on a wifi so i'm sure my router and all my open port forwarding might have a lil effect on my scores. (bet I'd be a good bit higher if i direct connected but I'm just too lazy)
anyways, nice find on the bandwidth test...better than most the other inaccurate ones i found.

FIOS

nice upload speed definitly higher then my cable.
-
Is there anyway to improve my lame 300/135 kb/s (117ms) speed?
Because it seems like all your download speeds are 10 times better than mine to the very least.
I'm not good with this tech stuff. Im using wierd basic verison.
-
hey krurath, If i were you i would call my provider and bitch! maybe it's something on their end. and my speeds vary, i ran those scores listed above in the early morning, I reran them a little while ago and they dropped down to the 8000-10000 range if that helps at all.
-
FiOS 15/2, Check out that upload bandwith, w00t!!
I still have my comcrap cable internet till 1/6, I should hook that up too and check my bandwith. DwG's getting that boost from their speedboost.

Well I know ppl in my neighborhood are complaining about the same problem, words coming strait from verizon.
My ping latencies had been over 1,000ms on avg. A support ticket was created to cut down the length of the provider line for it was to long. Immediately a saw my pings go way down. but its still isnt sufficient for gaming I get and average of 100ms ping.
I will def. call my provider. to see what’s up because theirs still no fios in my area, and wont be anytime soon
-
where do you live
-
Need I remind you that the Verizon guys never really finished the install. So it migh get better once they fix the damn thing.

That is pretty bad. I think my old dsl was that speed.

I live in hershey. Could it be because I have the cheap 768kb/s connection?
-
well even that i would expect at least 600-700kbps. and ur pings should be the same as mine.
-
-
*cough* Tweak your settings and you will get a small boost there tib.
-
-
Wish I could but I don't know how, they (verizon0 never explained. So if you know how to get into the router I would love to hear it.
-
use the main account email address (without the domain) and the password for that email account. That is the usual user/pass for verizon setups.

Tib, its the default login included in the manual with the friggin thing.
You should of gotten a ActionTec router. Default login:
U: admin
P: password
Does anyone know what DLink uses for default logins in case he got one of those pieces of s***.
If you are plugging directly into the ONT then you have only the MTU settings on your PC to change (windown 1500 is way low, use dsl reports tweak faq). As far as not finishing the install thats impossible, my tech had to login with two passwords (Windows domain, and login) and a RSA key thru a notebook with verizon wireless internet. Theres no way your ONT would of been activated had he not finished, and they are not allowed to login using end user equipment.

I have an actiontec gateway. They are pretty good cept the first one i got was faulty
-
Yeah other than the router is friggin' huge it's pretty nice, i'm using it instead of my hacked WRT54G for the time being. I was happy verizon switched away from D-Link, I have nothing but trouble from their stuff.
-
Anybody have access to a t3 at work. I'd love to see a speed test on one of those!
-
uh slow he never really set it up so yeah
-
i can get a t1 speed test
-
yea check the T1 and post it. Im just curious.
