got xbox 360, need friends
« on: January 02, 2008, 11:37:13 AM »
Dunno if any of you remember me, I hosted the FITHLan's in Tyrone.  I been too busy to host anything for the past year  :'(.  Anyway for xmas I got an xbox 360 and unfortunatly none of my friends have one.  If any of you do could I be your friend ? :2thumbsup:.  My ID is Gravdigr1.  Current multiplayer games I have are Halo 3, orange box, and forza 2.  I have found that after 10 years of mouse and KB playing I cannot play a fps game with a control pad, just doesn't work, so I am using the acessory that allows me to use a kb/mouse with the xbox.  It works quite well in halo and orange box.

The cake is a lie!

Not yet.  They only opened portions of it.  The rest should be done :crosses fingers: by the end of next year.

Hey Digr! If I don't get to you first, gamertag right down there ----V

And what's this accessory that let's you use a KB/mouse on the XBox? I didn't know that existed but that would be very helpful for me too. I can't play an FPS with a control pad for shiitake either.

Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

My tag should be down there too.

yep that's the one.  There are a few suck things about it, like having to dink with cords and wires.  And you have to use a wired xbox 360 controller to connect it, a wireless controller with the play and charge kit will not work.  But once it's connected you can chuck the wired controller till next time and plug in the kb/mouse.  My only other small complaint is that I am a ESDF gamer rather than the traditional WASD.  The xfps has the left analog stick permanently mapped to wasd (though the other buttons are programable).  So I find my fingers constantly shifting to the wrong keys, but such is life.

Now the handy thngs about this item, it can connect either usb or ps/2 kb/mouses, or you can connect a PS2 (playstation 2) dual shock controller.  And with the sniper version they added trim wheels.  These are handy to fine tune the mouse.  Because a lot of mouses are different, for example my Razer death adder has a sick dpi the stock settings has my crosshair jumping all over.  So I adjust the trim wheels until it is smooth as butter.  I just wish they had a way to lock the wheels in place rather than using tape to keep them from getting bumped out of adjustment.
