Steam is now offering the Battlefield:Bad Company 2 pre-order which guarentees you access to the beta next week.  Plus you get a bunch of unlocks since it's the limited edition>

I was really holding out for Steam at first. But I'm not sure I want to go through the hassle of cancelling my pre-order again (I accidentally ordered the downloadable version from the EA store, and it was a major bitch to try and cancel).

I watched a video of the BFBC2 singleplayer game on gametrailers.com website and at the end they stated there would be a multiplayer demo released in Feb.  I would've posted the video but everytime i linked it a different video would show up.

And I'm not sure if the PC is included in that demo. From what I heard, it's only a console demo.

Sounds like the beta is our demo. Would make no sense to run a PC beta and demo at the same time.

Yup. According to the EA Store website:

Pre-order Battlefield: Bad Company™ 2 for PC
and guarantee access to the PC beta starting January 28th, 2010!**

**Offer expires February 25, 2010. Good only for new purchases of "Battlefield: Bad Company™ 2" for PC (“Product”).

Since Feb 25th is when the beta ends.

Just because I have the habit of losing burned discs, even when I label them and put them in their own cases. A big plastic container with a colorful picture of a burning soldier is hard to miss. That, and I read on the customer support site that the downloadable version is only available to download for 30 days after you purchase the game. So it's not really like Steam where it's there all the time.

Ahh I see.  I'll just have to remember to keep the huge download somewhere safe.  I am curious to know how they would handle if you had to install it again and do not have the download available.
