Post by: _!Rathe!_ on April 27, 2006, 06:59:08 AM
For all of those who don't know FithLan is holding a LAN this weekend.  I guess I should have posted something earlier but I wasn't thinking.  All the details can be found at FITHLan (http://www.fithlan.com).  BTW this will be near State College, PA so you might be in for a drive.

From harrisburg, it really isnt that bad of a drive!  The NFL draft is this weekend, otherwise I'd consider getting a few guys and driving up!

I think I might hit this up. Anyone want to join me? Agent? Billabond?

I've been wanting to checkout LAN's other than FITES to, uh, diversify myself. Maybe get some ideas from a different perspective. Plus wantin' to throw some love back at FITH for their support of us during our "formative" years ;)

Rathe, I'm working on a little experiment using virtual machines for FITES. If I get it at least slightly ready before Saturday, you mind if I bring that with me to give it a little test run?

I wouldn't need a projector for anything. I don't even need a monitor, mouse, or keyboard for it, I'll just control them via RDP.

What time does this start? I don't see it anywhere on the site. Looks like it's going to be about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Harrisburg, first to State College, then turn SW towards Tyrone. There's not really a more direct route. So I'll have to leave the 'burg plenty early.

it starts at 10:00 am.  At least that is when I arrive.  As for the route to take there is an easier way than going through State College.  If you have never been up this way going through State College might be easier.  But quicker would be taking 522 south at lewistown towards Huntington then get on 453 north or west to tyrone.  it should only take about 2 hours for the trip.
