I know that Sparticus was not feeling well.
Altho, his sounds different than your symptoms (nausea and stuff).
-
well i know shadowhawk had bronchitis before coming to LAN.
-
And, well it is a daycare. We take care of about 100 kids. And this is cold/flu season. I am not up there on a daily basis, but I would not be surprised if there is some bug running around. I am sorry to hear your not feeling well tho.
-
It shouldn't have been from me. I was on antibiotics for about 5 days prior.
-
i cant afford to get real sick after going thru surgery.
i am going to have to rethink coming back to the daycare.
-
Yeah I was getting real sick @ the lan, dunno what from, but I wasn't caughing, or had a sore throat at all, just nauseated and pukin a good bit. it went away tho, still don't feel like eating
-
actually i got sick after the lan... chest pains, runny nose/ cough... black phlegm.... (sp?)... etc... now my school is pissed at me cause they think im skipping... when i was just sick :(
-
It is becoming that kind of year again. Between going to a public high school and stuff its almost impossible not to get sick nowadays.
Chug the OJ.
-
i hadnt even gone back to school yet.
-
Wow....I guess I wasn't the only one.
I felt kind of crampy before I went to bed Sunday night, but couldn't get to sleep. Monday morning, about 3AM I was throwing up. I missed two days of work before I was 100% over it.
But I didn't have any coughing or anything and I felt fine before and during the LAN.
Are you feeling ok now or are you still having symptoms?
-
i did get sick earlier in the following week, but i think that was cuz i ran out in my boxers approx. 6am monday morning to set off a firecracker in the middle of the street.
but who knows.

still coughing, still chest pain, still running nose, still coughing up stuff.

You people need to start eating dirt or something and build up your immune system :)
-
this is the first time i have gotten sick in years
brain surgery has left my immune system rather low.
-
hey guys are you sure this was all picked up at the daycare? For those of you who had the typical indigestion problems that is probably because of the way we all eat at the LANs ie. junk food and sugary drinks with lots of caffeine. I know i get these symptoms at every LAN no matter where we are just because i eat so damn bad.
for those with the cold symptoms. Most colds have at least a 3-4 day incubatory period don't they? It is the season for this crap to go around.
I'm just concerned that the LAN is getting a undeserved bad rap.
sounds like vondouche and fullmetalalchemist unfortunetly have a nasty cold.
If we would have had the LAN at a holiday inn the chances would have probably been higher to catch something considering how many different people they have going in and out of their facilities.
I hope that you guys don't abandon the York Lan because i certainly look forward to all of you there. Maybe we need to take some precautions for all of our events considereing we strain our bodies at these events that lead to the weakening of our immune systems.
i think for the 100ml Im gonna bring some OJ or vit C supplements.

Stop crying! Seriously, people get sick, and then they get better. It’s like we have the friggen grand martial to 'Teh Draemah Parade' © on our hands. If you want to make a post about how you got sick and you think it might have been at the LAN, that’s fine, whatever. But when you say stuff like "Ill have to rethink going back next time", now come on... that’s just a little overboard. Granted, if you are going to be coming out of surgery again perhaps it’s not the best idea to go. But you can’t possibly put the blame here on the LAN. It’s a public place, you find germs there… ‘THE MORE YOU KNOW!’.
-
there are reasons to be concerned. if you bothered to read the thread, you would know this.
i will be going to do dr for this, because it hasnt got any better over the last week or so. this is going to cause me to come off the steroids that i am on to reproduce my pitutary gland.
so xankriz, Fudge off this is a important issue to my health.

I don't believe that he is trying to trivialize your particular situation Nick. I think he is trying to say that sickeness happens when you get groups of people together. Obviously, your recent medical conditions, as you yourself pointed out, have greatly affected your ability to handle a cold. Not surprising really considering your body is trying to heal itself.
I also believe that he is trying to state that in public gatherings, its a numbers game. The more people you have together, the greater the risk of people being sick.
Heck, my wife/daughter had strep before and after the LAN. It mite have been me and not the daycare that got you sick.
To extend the analogy, to say since I got sick after going to school today, I am not going back may be a bit of a stretch.
-
seemed to me he didnt understand why this was a concern.
but i might be wrong.
-
I just think you are more sensitive this then others. I may be the one that is wrong. I don't think he was attacking you personally though, more of a general hey sheits happens type of post. Welcome to life and all.
