Title: FITES LAN May: York,PA (May 19, 2007)
Post by: The Shoctor on April 20, 2007, 09:07:08 AM
Registration for the next monthly lan is open! During this round of registration we will be testing the new seat reservation system though we will not be enforcing the seating chart.  This is to help us get a system worthy of the upcoming 150. Please submit your feedback in this thread.

And without further delay: REGISTER HERE! (http://www.fites.net/?page_id=18&event_id=4&em_action=register_form)

I registered and got a seat just fine, but it never asked me which seat I wanted, it just automagically assigned me to seat #4.

Then when did you type in "sully"?

Want me to delete your seat so you can retry?

I clicked on the link in the confirmation e-mail and it brought up the page to select my name and that was it. At no time did it ask me for a seat number. If you want to delete my seat reservation so I can try again go ahead. I'll take screenshots as I go along to document it for you.

No screenshots really needed, I chose my seat that time, so whatever happened before didn't repeat itself. I dunno *shrug*.

The games we play tend to be different each time, but last time was GRAW, UT2004, BF2, Zombie Mod, some Company of Heroes, and other ones I can't remember..

They haven't changed that much since you and JonnyDeath were last at one of our gigs.  I know that SmileyMark wants to play some Supreme Commander.  So I wouldnt be surprised to see a game or two going on.  I know some people were talking about Total War II as an option also.  Things have been pretty fluid as far as game selection goes. We never seem to know whats going to be the big hit.  Last time it was GRAW. The time before, ZOMBIES ruled.  Gun game hasn't been too popular, but that may change.  We never seem to know.

Any way to put up a poll or something?

I'd like to make sure I'm ready to play. I'm setting up my new PC and have to reinstall all the old games

At least 3 of us are into SupCom right now and think it would be awesome to get a LAN game going.

my $0.02!

From what I've seen in the past, polls tend to do diddlysquat. There really is no guarantee that what is talked about pre-LAN will actually be played to any substantial extent. Though, that's not to say that you can't.. but just saying that nothing is really certain. It all depends on what people feel like playing at any given time, or what ever game has the most people playing in it usually.

I have to agree. It seems like no matter what is talked about beforehand at our monthly we go off on a tangent a play what the crowd wants. Like last LAN we had one of the most intense UT2004 Instagib CTF matches with plenty of trash talking.

Do we thank Merlin for that part?

For instance, I think it was last LAN, or the one before that.. we had all talked about trying to make it an "old skool" LAN; play the older games. So I packed some of my older games with me; Q3A, BF1942, etc... and we never played any of them... almost glad because as shado said, I had quite possibly the most fun playing UT2004 than I ever had before.

So 3/4ths of me feels that playing on a random schedule is the way to go. You never really know how much fun you'll have.

For the most part be sure u have UT and CS though..Not matter what, u can always figure that those 2 will be played. Everything else play by ear i guess. This is why I needed a 500GB, no uninstalling and reinstalling..Always ready and patched for LAN time..Can't wait...Oh yeah   :2thumbsup:
