So there was a glitch (supposed) and a people were able to use the xbox website to get Fable2 for free. The marketplace accessed via the xbox showed $20, so it was weird. I used the website and 7GB later, I'm playing Fable 2. Word seems to be the "glitch" was fixed, but here's the link for you all to try out.

I have it up on firefox and it shows purchased, but I bring it up on IE8 and it shows "FREE" in big letters on the bottom half of the page. Soooo.... if no one can get it, at least I tried. I wanted to get the full download and test it before I shared the info.

Heh. Damn, that sucks. I found it completely by accident when I was perusing Kotaku. All sorts of people were saying, "this is legit, why else would it be 7GB" and others were saying "it's only the first episode, but like other game trials it downloads the full game so you can have it all at once when you buy it."

I've played a bit last night and then a good bit this morning and it's completely legit. MS twitter said it's only the first episode, so someone borked big unless it was a super limited-time (shady, but not so shady) deal to generate hype for Fable 3.... which I wouldn't be against believing.

Though in the end, I hope it wasn't so big of a mistake that someone gets a chair thrown at them. :-(

Yeah it doesn't work anymore.  It says 19.99 now. Besides, I only have the 20gb hard drive anyway.

oh, and when you say download link, you mean the green "download to xbox360" and not the "full game" link?
