I used to home brew in New Jersey with my pal.  We had some very nice ones.  The homemade soda was an explosive experience.  Imbedded glass in drywall.

my parents don't exactly homebrew but they do make moonshine.  Alcohol so pure that it burns pure blue.  Also you don't get a hangover from it cause there are few impurities in the alcohol.
