Anyone in it? I registered my boxed version of Soulstorm on Steam and got immediate access to the DoW2 beta.
Here are a few pros to the game:
-Resolution support. I play at 4320x900 at full detail and it runs pretty smooth. Tyranids running across all 3 of my screens is sweeeeeeeeeet.
-Destructable terrain. Your big units can walk into trees and other small things and crush them, clearing a path if you so need it.
-Effects. Wowza.
-Tyranids. Pardon my french, but Fudge the Zerg. NIDZ 4 LIFE, SUCKA!!!!
Cons:
-Beta. I completely attribute it to my wild and crazy resolution, but running full steam and at 4320x900 seems to *kind of* kill frame rates. Units seems slow to respond, though actual actions like moving and attacking other units seems to run just fine.
-4 races to choose from. Space Marines, Orks, Eldar and Tyranid. (not so much a con, but I wouldn't have minded seeing the other races. TAU! FOR THE GREATER GOOD!)
-Online multiplayer only. No way to start a local game against the computer to test out new units/races by yourself. Games for Windows Live. Having a hotmail/windows live account is necessary to play online. Not such a big deal if you have one and/or are on xbox live as it all links together (VinceGun on xbox live shows up as the same account on DoW2) for one big stat-linked thingy. And stuff.
All in all, one hell of a beta. Kind of like a pre-demo by the feel of it. I'm definitely buying this game, and I rarely find pc games that I actually want to buy nowadays.

I downloaded it, but I haven't played it yet. I'm a serious fan of DoW, so I'm glad to hear good things.
