Would be nice, would be nice.

Torrents what? *blink* done.
1080p 5.1 streaming from netflix + xbox in another room playing BC2 + video chat over aim? Too easy.

I've read other things stating that Google doesn't so much want to be a pure ISP, but they want to potentially lay the groundwork and then have all the other companies kick it into high gear and give us the speed that we all know they're capable of dishing out.

I'm "signing up" or whatever it is just to do it. It would be rather crazy to get contacted by them for further.... "residential study and testing."

I'm sure the MPAA and RIAA will make an attempt to impose a use tax (Sorta like they do with CD-R's branded for audio use) on broadband if Google owns/runs the framework.  Google had pretty consistently crapped on digital rights and withstood being bullied by those groups, if they cant bully Google into moving away from a neutral network they will have to get their money somewhere, could be the big legal battle of the 201X's.

We're living in the future now, what with it being TWENTYTEN and junk... so maybe this will be the start of the skynet vs human bit, except it'll be the AA's vs Google.
